GOLDEN EAGLE [Austin]
Golden Eagle delivers a longform montage punctuated by organic edits, creating a “seamless skein of scenes” with a Haroldesque flair. Utilizing game-based improv as well as Switchboard-style character development, the scenes themselves and the transitions that link them produce a Matroyshka doll of references and callbacks for the audience to savor over the course of a 20- to 25-minute show.
Golden Eagle attacks the stage like a bird of prey in a collective, character-based opening reminiscent of the invocation, arresting audience attention from the minute the troupe runs out. With equal parts character and game, and a tapestry of subtle callbacks, Golden Eagle draws upon a year of improv coursework together to produce vignettes both comedically satisfying and socially inquisitive.

THE INMATES OF THE

This troupe is being taught by Tom Booker, veteran of the Annoyance Theater. He is teaching the troupe the techniques taught to him by Improv Guru Del Close as well as things that Tom has learned while studying and performing for nearly 23 years and teaching and directing improvisation since 1993.
