FRIDAY, SEPTEMBER 4
8pm @ Salvage Vanguard Theater - Oranges Stage

TOKEN BOY [Los Angeles]
Token Boy finds the perfect balance of storytelling and playfulness, focusing on telling stories about characters that the audience cares about while having fun with each other and the audience. They are extremely supportive of everything that happens on stage. This mixed with the fact that we're all beautiful ladies makes it a show you'll never forget!

A Token Boy show starts off with a suggestion from the audience. Each performer gives a truthful factoid from their own life inspired by the suggestion which then fuel the rest of the show.

CLAYMORE [Chicago]
Brian, James, Josh, Peyton and Tyler have been performing together for over six years. Their strong friendship feeds into their uniquely soul-baring, high-energy show. The show features a long-form improv set inspired by one word from the audience. The improvisers start the form by sitting down in four chairs and sharing personal experiences and insights. From this initial conversational exploration, the form opens up, producing inspired, highly physical, playful scenes, ranging from the dramatic and heart-touching, to the absurd and sick. There is nothing sacred in the piece that, often times, spirals into one metaphorical explosion at the end.

The play is non-stop, and the content ranges from grounded scene work to highly absurd, and abstract. It's like if a steam train had the sensibility of a ballerina.

BILLYHAWK [Los Angeles]
A Billyhawk show is steeped in tenets of the Deconstruction. Generally, it starts by having a discussion on a real topic, going into bits, and then a “real” scene is dropped in there before wrapping things up. Billyhawk doesn’t take a suggestion from the audience, trusting them to go along, and also forming a bond with them in the opening by talking about something in the cast's lives.

Jeff and Brian are both Miles Stroth disciples, finding a lot of humor in the evil that men do.
