- Out of Bounds Memories: The Plurals -

The 2009 Out of Bounds Festival starts tonight, and I wanted to take another moment to remember some of the greatness of OoBs past. This time, it's a nugget from 2005, and a sketch trio called The Plurals.

Adam, Braden and Joel had been coming to Austin from down south for a few months, and doing the occasional bit at No Shame Theater when they were accepted as The Plurals to perform at OoB 2005. We knew they were smart and weird, but had no idea what to expect when they started doing their show.

What we got was a really hilarious, very solid set that featured the three of them doing some of the most memorable sketches ever performed at Out of Bounds. The one that still sticks with me is a video called "Cobbler Dogs," in which the President of Food creates a new edible snack that's half-jelly, half-weiner, all delicious.

The Plurals sadly, aren't around anymore. But these three guys were seriously hilarious, and they took that whole show by storm. They came back and played again in 2006, and were again fantastic, but I will never forget the first time I saw them, and saw the "Cobbler Dogs" video, shown below.
