Snackers isn't just an Austin-based improv troupe - it's also a name that you won't forget.

Employing their own version of the "living room" format of improv, Snackers trades stories with the audience and each other to develop ideas and inspiration before breaking into improvised scenes and then reconvening with the war cry, "Snackers!"

Originally formed as a practice group by students of the Merlin Works school of improvisation, the troupe soon expanded with the addition of two members from The Leading Brands, a disbanded troupe, and since then have performed at The Hideout and opened for the Loaded Gun Theory's production of "The Automat" at the Dougherty Arts Center. Perhaps the most lasting impression the troupe has on its audiences is the fun that they have on stage - this is a group that not only plays together but also truly enjoys each other's company. Of course, there's also that name - when asked to identify the best part of being a Snacker, troupe member Katie Thornton said, "it's walking back through the coffee shop an hour after the show and hearing people shout 'Snackers' at you from across the room."
