Curtis Needs a Ride performs a type of long form. We use games interchanged with scenes to present a long form that is both entertaining and visually stimulating.

Curtis Needs A Ride (CNAR) consists of four members, who all met in the TCU improv troupe. Austin Hines, graduated before the others and couldn’t give up performing so he asked Michael “Flu” Flusche to start a side troupe over the summer. We weren’t bold enough to think we could carry a troupe on our own, so we asked Steve Rupp to join us – and we remained 3 for a while. Steve couldn’t make it to a show one weekend, so we grabbed this new kid Grayson Howe and asked him to fill in. Grayson, needless to say, was a keeper. The troupe was complete.

CNAR mostly performs in Ft. Worth, but enjoys Austin the most. The Hideout Theatre has been very kind to us, bringing us down almost once a month. We even have a super-fan that blogs about every show we have. Every once in a while we see some familiar faces in the audience, which makes us think people remember us, and come back to see our shows. Our fanbase is already growing, hopefully Austin will soon become a staple of ours, and Curtis Needs A Ride will become a staple of Austin.

Curtis Needs a Ride is performing an improv show with Skipfield and Galapagos 8pm on Thursday at the Salvage Vanguard Theatre
